Obituary

Ronald Dale Carson, 75, a lifelong resident of Bossier City, LA, and parishioner of

Holy Trinity Catholic Church, passed away on the morning of August 31st, 2023 after

complications from a lengthy infection. Ron was a loving friend, husband, father,

and grandfather. A truly angelic spirit who dedicated his life to caring for seriously

ill ICU patients as a Registered Nurse for over 45 years, he selflessly gave of his time

to anyone in need.

A Memorial Service visitation and Holy Mass will commence on Thursday, September

28, 2023 at 1:00PM, downtown Shreveport at Holy Trinity Catholic Church

with address of 315 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA 71101

Ron was born September 28, 1947 to Marzelle Daniel Carson and Sylvester E.

Carson of Bossier City, LA. He is now reunited with them in Heaven along with his

elder sister Sylvia Carson Neil of Haughton, LA.

He was a 1965 graduate of Bossier High School and later Northwestern State University

where he received a B.S. in Nursing. He went on to serve as a world class RN

where he was a cherished friend and mentor with an unparalleled work ethic. He

loved God, country and his family. Ron was a phenomenal writer and lover of fine

things. He enjoyed reading, talking politics, visiting with friends, and LSU football.

He loved Hollywood, the cinematic arts, theater, and opera. He had a passion for all

music, played the accordion and was a well-rounded Renaissance man who could be

seen playing the piano at a dinner party one minute, and the next he was explaining

the finer points of the latest luxury automobiles to anyone that would listen. One of

Ron's favorite pastimes was to drive around town on beautiful days with the sunroof

open and windows rolled down, listening loudly and singing along to his music. Ron

never met a stranger and was loved by everyone that knew him. He always went out

of his way to make others feel special and celebrate all occasions. Ron's Joyfulness of

Spirit was infectious and may this memory remain in our hearts forever.

Ron is survived by his best friend and ex-wife, Mary Ann Whitelaw Carson and

their two children's families. His son, Lt Col Scott Carson, USAF and granddaughter,

Alexandria Clarke; His daughter, Lisa Carson, RN with Lowray M. Chachere and

grandchildren, River and Parker Chachere.

The Carson family would like to express gratitude to Nita Whitaker of Los Angeles,

CA who was Ron's lifelong friend. Also, a special heartfelt thank you to family friend

Scott Butler of Bossier City, LA who devoted many hours of his time to help the

family before, during, and after Ron's lengthy hospitalization. We also would like to

extend our thanks and appreciation to the friends and family at Nightingale Hospice

for their continued support, as well as the numerous physicians and medical staff who

cared for Ron. We especially want to name Dr. Attila Balogh, Dr. Brian Monaco,

Dr. Anand Desai, Dr. Alexandre E. Malek, and Dr. Michelle Self. A very special thanks

to Dr. Kirit Patel and Mrs. Shobha Patel for their many years of friendship, devotion and

support to our family.
