Roberta Joyce Richards Phillips was called to spend eternity with her Lord on Saturday October 29, 2016. She was born to James A. and Avis West Richards on February 7, 1943 and raised in rural Anderson County KS. In Topeka she met the love of her life, Jimmie Reid Phillips, who called her the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and celebrated 52 years of marriage together. They raised two children, Rorry James Phillips and Laura Phillips Martin, during a life that took them through Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and finally Shreveport LA.

Roberta earned an A.A. Degree from Iola Junior College in 1963 and a B.S. in Organization Management in 1995 from Wiley College in Marshall TX. She worked for LA Assoc. for the Blind and Goodwill Industries and was a member of Disciples of Christ churches where she had been a youth sponsor.

She battled hard against her illness and died at Lifecare North-Shreveport with her husband by her side. Roberta was grateful for all of her family, friends, healthcare workers, church members and acquaintances who prayed for her regularly. Her beautiful smile and selfless nature will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Though she is gone, she impacted innumerable people throughout her life and through organ donation of her corneas gave sight to another.

She is survived by husband Jimmie, son Rorry, his wife Kristi Willbanks and grandchildren William Reid and Elizabeth Katelyn of Irving TX, daughter Laura, her husband Ken Martin and granddaughter Emma Grace of Mascoutah IL, sister Bonnie Jones, nieces Robin Bowyer and Jessica Jones and great-nephews Logan Jones and Rhett Bowyer all of Irving TX, brother James Logan Richards and wife Lori Richards of Leroy KS, nephew Denver Phillips of Bend OR, niece Margaret Phillips Hart of Fort Smith AR, and many other extended family and close friends around the country.

Celebration of Life Services will be held:
