Shreveport, LA - Roberta Eileen Day passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 30, 2014. Robbie was a second generation Irish-American, born December 8, 1946 in Providence, Rhode Island, to Raymond and Roberta M. Day. Robbie graduated from Airline High School, and attended Draughon Business College. Robbie retired after 30 years as an Examiner, from Disability Determinations. She was a very intelligent, loving, lighthearted, caring person who enjoyed her family and friends. She loved holidays, parties, family gatherings, traveling, darts, dancing, reading, her home, and her dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Thomas Day, Sr., and Roberta M. Day of Providence, Rhode Island. She is survived by her brother Raymond and his wife Karen of Shreveport, niece Hillary and her husband Jesse Grantham, and their children Emma Day and Warner of Shreveport, and nephew Mack and his wife Teresa Gingles of Waco, TX. A memorial will be held for Robbie at 2 p.m. August 5, 2014 in the Memorial Gardens of First Presbyterian Church in Shreveport for family and close friends. Robbie's family want to thank the staff of Heritage Manor Stratmore, and the staff of LifePath Hospice Care Services for the kindness and compassion shown throughout her illness.
