Memorial services for Robert Steven Salter will be held at Whispering Pines Missionary Baptist Church in Minden, LA on December 10 ^th , 2022, at 2 o'clock p.m. with Brother Mike Wilkes officiating.  Interment will follow at Whispering Pines Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 o'clock p.m until time of service. Steve was born May 23, 1960, in Minden, LA and entered into rest November 18, 2022, in Dixie Inn, LA.

He's proceeded in death by his father Robert Earl Salter.  He is survived by his mother Edna Ruth Turner Salter of Minden, LA, his daughter Christina Salter Johnson and Husband Rodney Johnson of Greenwood, LA, son Brandon Kyle Waters and wife Erin Waters of Bossier, LA, his sister Debra Salter Ashley and husband Mike Ashley of Minden, LA, nephew Clay Ashley and fiancé Katie Franks of Minden, LA, as well as numerous grandchildren and one great grandson.

Steve retired as Sargent First Class from the Louisiana National Guard. In 1979 when Steve enlisted, he was a member of the 1087 ^th Transportation Company and in later years transferred to the 527 ^th Engineering Group. During his 25 years of service, he traveled to many places, a few to list would be, Belize, Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Kuwait Liberation, and Saudi Arabia.
