Robert Edmund “Bobby” Caskie

September 19, 1947 – August 5, 2026

Robert Edmund “Bobby” Caskie was born September 19, 1947, in Richmond, Virginia, and had made Shreveport, Louisiana, his home since 1955. Bobby peacefully passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Robert A. Caskie; his mother, Anna Y. Caskie; his sister, Jacquelin Caskie Guillot and her husband, Ronald; his brother-in-law, Gale Ferguson; his former business partner and best friend, William R. “Bill” Young; his niece, Leesa Guillot; his special great-niece, Meredith Norris; his honorary nephew, Russell “Rusty” Dolloff; his honorary sister, Janette Dolloff and her husband, Richard Dolloff; and his honorary sister, Rose Gragg.

He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Caskie Ferguson; niece, Heather Clark and her husband, Richard; nephews, Ian Robert Ferguson and his wife, Tanya; Lee Ferguson, Ron Guillot and his wife, Allie, Michael Guillot and his wife, Ashly, and Chris Guillot and his wife, Lisa; honorary nieces, Ronna Beecher, Donna Gragg Rogerson, and Sherri Gragg Norris; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as special friends, Danette Daigle and Jimmy Martin, who brought great joy to his life.

At the age of 18, Bobby began what would become a lifelong career with Young’s Discount Batteries. More than simply a career, the business became an important part of Bobby’s life and provided him with many treasured friendships throughout the years.

Bobby loved his family deeply and believed some of life’s greatest moments were found by simply being together. He loved good food, family gatherings, fishing, laughter, and making memories with those he loved. He had a particularly special way with children, making each one feel important and loved. As one of his nieces so beautifully remembered, “He made every child feel special, and HE was magical.”

Bobby also had a great love for travel and adventure. His travels took him to Hawaii, Alaska on a cruise, the Bahamas on a family vacation, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Germany, and many other destinations. For Bobby, however, the destination was only part of the adventure; the greatest joy was sharing those experiences with family and friends.

Those who knew Bobby will remember his humor, generosity, friendship, love of family, and unmistakable ability to turn ordinary moments into treasured memories. Whether it was a fishing trip, a family vacation, a favorite meal, an elaborate scavenger hunt for a child, or simply time spent together, Bobby understood something important about life: the people we love are what make the memories worthwhile.

His family is deeply grateful for the many friends and loved ones who surrounded Bobby with love, friendship, prayers, and support throughout his life and especially during his final journey.

Services celebrating Bobby’s life will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 E. Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana.
