Shreveport, LA - Rita Vernon Wallace passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on August 20, 2014. Born on December 15, 1932 in Tipton, OK, Rita was a nearly lifelong resident of Bossier City. She was a retiree of the Caddo Parish Juvenile Court. Rita enjoyed spending time with family, attending her monthly birthday club, and had a lifelong love for chocolate. Her famous cornbread dressing will bring back fond memories every Thanksgiving. She was preceded in death by her parents Hazel and William Vernon and brother Jack. She is survived by her son Tommy and wife Lauri and grandson Matthew of Shreveport, sister-in-law Betty Vernon and niece Nichole of Belton, TX. The family would like to thank the staff of the Glen for their compassionate and loving care of Rita over the last few years. A private burial for the family will be held at a later date.
