Rita "Diane" Brooks, 72, passed away on March 26, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Born on November 10, 1952, in Monroe, Louisiana, Diane's journey was one marked by deep love for her family, a strong connection to her faith, and an unmistakable spirit that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Diane was the devoted mother of two daughters, Ashley Michelle Humphries and Jennifer Elizabeth Perry. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Deven Aleksander Humphries and his wife Gabby, Noah Thomas Whitehurst, and Kai Andrew Whitehurst. She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandson, Emmett Lane Humphries. Diane is remembered with love by her brothers Dan Brooks and Douglas Brooks as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dee and Dan Brooks and two brothers, Dale Brooks and David Brooks.

Known affectionately as "Mimi", Diane embraced life with a feisty spirit and a heart full of love. She found joy in the simple pleasures—spending time with her family, caring for her pets, and tending to her yard. Her conversations with the Lord were frequent and heartfelt; she loved Him deeply and carried that faith with her every day.

A memorial gathering to honor Diane's life will be held on April 11, 2025 ,1pm, at Aulds Funeral Home, located at 7849 E Kings Hwy in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Rita "Diane" Brooks will forever be remembered for the strength of her character and the warmth of her presence. She will remain in our hearts until we meet again.
