Obituary

Richard Stanley Snow was born May 31, 1957, in Rantoul, Illinois, to the late David R. And Carolyn S. Snow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donna M. Snow, and his sister Nancy Snow. He is survived by his son Michael D. Snow, and one grandchild, Allison Snow, two brothers, Randall Snow, and Russell Snow, and one sister, Amy Snow, as well as multiple nieces and nephews. He loved his family, enjoying all his nieces and nephews and would chat on the computer with them any chance he got. Richard also loved cats and dogs and is even survived by his dog Lilly.

Richard was an avid computer enthusiast, spending his time in the United States Navy, and even received an accommodation for helping fix the ship's computers during the Iranian hostage crisis. An accident from the ship left him a disabled American Veteran. He held a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University as well as master's studies and certifications in computer networking from TSTC. Richard also spent time working for the Houston Commission for the Blind.

He was always trying for the biggest and best computer and internet speeds. Let's just say he could have taken a byte out of Apple, but in 1974 when he wrote the assembler text editor for the Kim 1, things were moving at a fast pace, and the ones with the capitol got their way. That never stopped Richard from writing his programs though and reprogramming every computer he collected. He had several websites and writings, and, at the time of his last stroke, had been working on an autobiography.

Richard loved the Lord, and His music including the old hymns. He was always up to hanging out singing around the campfire, playing the piano, and even singing from his hospital bed in recent weeks, "Oh Lord How Great Thou Art."

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71115.
