Obituary

Shreveport, LA - Richard Weston (Dick) Risley, age 85, was born November 21, 1928 in Alexandria, LA and passed away on July 6, 2014 after a long battle with Parkinson's. Visitation will be held at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA 71115, on July 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.. A service will be held at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA July 10 at 10 a.m.. Richard served in the US Navy on board the USS Baltimore during the Korean War. He attended Centenary College and worked at United Gas in the engineering department for 30 years retiring in 1986. He continued working over the next decade as a consultant. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, tennis, square dancing and golfing. Richard was a member of Woodridge Baptist Church and had resided at the LA War Veterans Home over the last year. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Emily Risley, his twin brother Robert, brothers Frank, Charles and Martin and his sisters Louise and Mary. He is survived by his wife of 51 1/2 years, Beverly Woods Risley and 3 children Robin, Ryan, and Ronald. He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren Caleb, Dillon, and Amber, along with many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to all who cared for him at the Louisiana War Veterans Home, WK Pierremont Hospital and the Grace Home.
