Richard Lee Nicolaisen born in Chicago IL July 28th, 1950. and Passed away peacefully in his home near Ivan Lake LA July 9th, 2022. He lost a battle with stage 4 metastatic cancer.

He was a retired CDL Trainer.  Richard served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, Honorably Discharged and given awards for his bravery. He owned and ran for many years a pay Cat fishery Triple N Farms. He is survived by his life partner Terri Massie, Daughter Kathleen (Jake) Richard of Plymouth IN., Daughter Angela Marie Vermillion of Linton IN., Son James Nicolaisen of Sarepta LA, and Son David Fox of Cotton Valley LA.  Stepson Michael Fox of Kilgore TX.  Grandchildren Terry Lee Nicolaisen, Alexandra Nicole Haug, Heather Rose Haug, Gail Marie Haug, Kayleen Richards, Jessica Richard, Anthony Nicolaisen, Austin Fox, Brandon Fox, and Robby Fox.  Great Grandchildren Aaleitha Ann Mejia, Juan Carlos Gonzalez, Tyler Devere Pritchett, Kenneth Paul Pritchett, Dillon Rylan Pritchett, Autumn Rose Schurman, Kaitlyn Joyce Schurman, Noah Richards, Adam Richards, and a baby girl due any day.  He was loved by many other family members and friends too many to list.

He had a love for exotic birds which he showed and bred. He was well known in the regional bird community and won many show bird awards. Sadly, left behind birds he loved like family.

The family would like to thank Saint Joseph Hospice for the aid in caring for Richard and making his last days as comfortable as could be.
