Richard Medlin, 77, of Mooringsport, LA passed peacefully at his home on October 7th at 4:20 pm

Richard was born on August 30, 1948 in Gladewater, TX to the late Charlton Loretta Williams Medlin and Raymon Hilton Medlin.  He graduated from North Caddo High in 1967.

Richard lived his life on his own terms.  He was a leader, a hard worker, and loved what he did.  He was known to many people from all over the arklatex through his junkyard.   He was always hustling and loved the art of the deal.
Richard's passion was to ride.  His favorite placed was to be in the wind  He rode like he lived "hard and fast".  He had a fearless nature and had learned to endure from childhood.He started his work career in the oil field. He worked for his father for many years before moving on to other employers and finally ending with Hart and Mcfarlan in Gray, TX.    From the many years of Oil field work, he went out on his own working on cars and building his junkyard yard.

Richard is survived by his wife Deborah Barnes Medlin, daughter Ricky Medlin Connor (Eric), son Shawn Medlin (Amy), grandchildren Charlton Hammett (Nathan), Jordan East, Donald East II, Zachary Thomas, Colton Connor (Hailey), Reilly Medlin, Jacob Medlin, great grandchildren  Raevyn Hammett, Gabriel Hammett, Weston Connor, and Nia Hammett.

Richard was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Those that knew him will never forget, and those that loved him will always remember.
