Richard Lee Dowden Sr. Was born April 17, 1941, he was called to heaven on May 8, 2021 at 5:30 am at the age of 80 after battling a lengthy illness of Alzheimer's. He was a native of of Shreveport, La. and was in the auto body repair business.

The family will receive visitors at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Hwy Shreveport, La 71115,  Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 5-7. Funeral services will be at Aulds Funeral Home Friday, May 14, 2021 11:00am. Burial will follow at Forest Park-East Cemetery (St. Vincent Ave.).  Family and friends will gather at the Moose Lodge on Bert Kouns in celebration of his life and request all come and fellowship.

He was preceded in death by his dad Murphy Lee Dowden, mother Martha Jo Dowden, and daughter Jobee Lynn Dowden.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judy Lynn Dowden, one son Richard Lee Dowden Jr./ lifelong companion April Leann Young, one daughter Belinda Kay Dowden, one son by love Roy Duane Ringy.  8 grandchildren Tiffany, Kaylee, Dalton, Emma, Lauren, Alyssa, Gracie, and Reagan. 6 great grandchildren Aiden, Avarie, Konnor, Jaylee, Waylon, Korey and 6 more on the way and a host of family and friends.

He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife. He was the most loving daddy and pawpaw to his kids and grandchildren. He will forever be remembered in our hearts.

Pallbearers will be Roy Ringy, Todd Cage, Tanner Wilson, Dalton Singletary, Chris Dunphy, and Matthew Fruge.
