IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rebecca J
Huber
November 1, 1951 – May 1, 2025
Rebecca Jane Willis Huber (Becky, Mom, Mimi, Babe!) went to be with Jesus on May 1st at the age of 73.
Becky was born in Springhill, LA on November 1, 1951, to Darrell Avondale Willis and Alice Faye Fish Willis. After graduating from Springhill High School, she earned her Associate's Degree from Louisiana Tech University. There she was impressed by her big brother's roommate, Richard Douglas Huber, whom she married on August 28, 1970. Becky worked which helped put Richard through college. Then she was a stay-at-home mom and professional cake decorator until, in her forties, she went back to college and earned her nursing degree from Northwestern. She worked at Willis-Knighton for many years until she retired.
Becky had a gentle spirit, much like her mom's "sweet spirit," and she was often described as "spirit-led" when it came to sharing scripture and encouraging others. Early on, she was active in the children's and women's ministries at Broadmoor Assembly of God (now Gateway Church) and opened her heart and home as a foster mother to ten children. She was always up for following Richard on whatever adventure came their way.
In her later life she enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, and riding her John Deere mower at the lake.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Alice Willis.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, daughter Stacey Wallace (Philip), son Stephen Huber (Dottie), grandchildren Daniel Natoli (Lou), PJ Wallace, Joshua Wallace, Emma Bicknell, Emma Huber, Elayna Huber, great grandson Lucas Natoli, and brothers Michael Willis (Dana) and Wayne Willis (Melinda), and other special friends and relatives.
She said, "Richard is going to need 'looking-after.'" You can honor her by checking in on him.
Visitation will take place at 10am on Tuesday, May 6th, with a service following at 11am at Gateway Church.
