Services to celebrate the life of Rebecca Lea Alexander, 66, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6th at Auld's Funeral Home. Becky was born (the 4th of five children) on February 20, 1952 in Shreveport, LA to the late Douglas Junior and Maggie Walker Johnson and passed away from liver failure on Wednesday, July 4th @ Willis Knighton Medical Center.
She graduated from Woodlawn High School and worked at AT&T before attending Pat Goins School of Cosmetology to become a hairstylist and cosmetologist. She had her own shop and many happy clients. She also worked as a make-up artist for several movies and music videos.
Becky had a playful nature and a wicked sense of humor. She loved pranks, a trait she inherited from her father. She was a very creative person. She loved to make jewelry and all things crafty, and constantly had ideas for new inventions. She was a dreamer with a big heart and loved people and animals. She saw something interesting and wonderful in everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law, James Herndon.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Charlie Alexander; son, William Powell, Jr and wife, Heather; ex- husband, Bill Powell, Sr., all of Shreveport, La.; sisters Gail Gilcrease and husband, Jerry and Donna Herndon of Keithville, La.; brothers Steve Johnson, Sr. and wife, Vicki, of Shreveport, La. and Mark Johnson and wife, Kim, of Oil City, La.
She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews, which she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of WKMC MICU. They were compassionate, diligent and professional. In an overwhelming situation, they helped the family understand and cope. We could not have asked for better care.
