Obituary

Raymond Eugene Stahl, better known as Bubba Ray, passed away peacefully at his home on Sept 7th
2023 following complications from a recent surgery.
Bubba Ray was born March 14, 1968, in Shreveport, La where he lived out his entire life. He had two
children, Michael Stahl, and Melanie Ellers with his former spouse Kelli McInnis French.
His life was forever changed in 1990 after an automobile accident left him with a traumatic brain injury.
Though he was well known before his accident, the events of his life that followed will forever be his
true legacy. He never allowed his disabilities to hinder him. He made many friends who learned to love
him despite his slurred speech and short temper. He had a way of expressing himself and sharing his
beliefs & ideals with anyone that would take the time to listen. He was a Christian and not ashamed to
share his testimony. He loved to talk politics and during the Trump movement expressed his opinion
loud & proud. On any given day during that time, you could see him on local roads on his John Deere
tractor flying his flags. He was a huge supporter of the 2nd amendment rights. When he wasn't using his
tractor to show his political support, he was using it to help anyone in need of a tree moved or other
lawn needs. Most of the time he would only accept a good meal as payment for his services.
Those that had brief encounters with him never knew they were dealing with a true legend. There are 7
personality traits that define a legend. He had them all. He was bold, passionate, purposeful, humble,
resilient, and compassionate of others. A legend is someone that leaves behind an unforgettable
impression on others. They are known for one or more distinctive and original qualities that set them
apart from everyone else. That was our Bubba Ray.
Bubba Ray was proceeded in death by his father, Elmer James Stahl, Stepfather Phillip Gill, and Brotherin-
law Rodney May.
He leaves behind his mother, Cynthia Iles Gill, who cared for him till the end. He also leaves behind his
son Michael Stahl (Rachael) and daughter Melanie Ellers (Patrick), sisters Mary May and Sandi White,
Maggie McLendon, nieces and nephews and many other family and friends. However, his grandchildren
were the most cherished. Easton Ellers, Selleck Stahl, Natalie Stahl, and Nora Stahl. He was proud to be
their "Grumpy" and loved them with all his heart.
He had many friends, and his mother, Cynthia would like the send a special thank you to Paul Baker and
Brad Smith, (who were usually getting him out of trouble) for the love they showed him.
The family would like for you to join them for a memorial service and celebration of life. The memorial
service will be held at Trinity Heights Baptist Church at 3820 Old Mooringsport rd. Shreveport La 71107
on October 7th at 2:00pm with a visitation starting at 1:30pm. Celebration of Life will follow at Fumbles
Bar & Grill at 3142 N Market Shreveport La 71107, where he loved to hang out with his friends.
Bubba Ray never ended a conversation with anyone without saying "God Bless."
