Randall (Randy) William Schuler, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed in peace at the age of 84 on May 23, 2021 after falling and sustaining tremendous head trauma.
Randy was born on August 10, 1936 in Portsmouth, Ohio, and later attended Chillicothe High School. Throughout high school Randy worked at Omar's Bakery and his father's restaurant "Schuler's Sandwich Shop". Randy's father and his friend Carl Rinehard went into business together, renaming the restaurant "The Randi-Rien's" which is now known today as "Carl's Townhouse". This is where Randy got his love managing restaurants. He later worked as the Manager at the Red Barn Restaurant and then continued on with the Kentucky Fried Chicken Corporation of which he managed numerous restaurants in Ohio, Michigan, Arkansas and Louisiana. Randy had strong work ethics and enjoyed shadowing the way for the young in the business. Randy retired after 30 years with the corporation.
Randy was predeceased by his parents Randall Schuler and Carol Schuler Benner and her husband Paul, his brother Ted Schuler, his sister Donna Ashley, his granddaughter Desiree Lynn White and grandson Christopher John Comesanas.
Randy will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 10 years, Irene Schuler and his two step children Joshua and Anikah Purisima. Randy's children: Deborah Comesañas and her husband David, Teresa White Ruud and her husband Dean, Randy Paul Schuler and his wife Felicia, Trish Schuler Skinner and Allison Schuler Peer.
Proud grandfather Randy is also survived by his 10 grandchildren; Adrian Frau, Amanda and Austin Comesañas, Ashlee and Nathaniel Schuler, Jordan and Jillian Church, Jayden Peer, Madelyn Skinner and Anna Ruud.
In addition, Randy is also survived by three great grandchildren, Julissa, Brianna and Arian Frau along with numerous nieces and nephews!
There is a special relative in Randy's life that always gave him laughter, memories of the past and keeping him grounded, thank you Aunt Patty Schuler (sister-in-law), you are loved by Irene and the family.
Randy was lovingly given the nickname "Nappy" by his siblings because he was always taking naps. Over the years, Randy was always "A Ladies Man", he was a big fan of Elvis Presley and loved his version of song "My Way" and Neil Diamond's song "Sweet Caroline" of which he always danced to it with his wife Irene. Randy went boating and water skiing in the summer with his family; he also enjoyed fishing, swimming, and hunting. Randy loved a food of sorts, but his favorites were raw oysters on the half shell, a good steak, spaghetti, meatloaf, scallops and Pancit.
Randy will also be remembered by two of his famous quotes: When anyone asked "is there anything else I can get you"? Randy would reply; "a million dollars". The other was"I don't know and I could care even less".
Isaiah 41:10: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
We love you Randy and will always carry you in our hearts, until we meet again!
