Obituary
Ramonia Leigh Ballew, age 59, was born September 9, 1957 in Shreveport, Louisiana and lived in Keithville, Louisiana.
She went to be with her Lord and Savior and her sister Rhonda Gaudin on February 18, 2017 after a lengthy illness. She was happiest living on her friends, Donna and Rick Johnson's farm, where she helped raise and care for alpacas and llamas. Mona was also an avid football fan; she especially loved cheering for the Saints and LSU Tigers.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Letha and Jim Holder, and her sister Rhonda Gaudin.
She is survived by her parents James and Nelda Lester; daughter Amanda Blake (Larry); siblings, Brian Lester (Tosha), Debbie Hyman and Jimmy Lester; two grandsons Kaiden and Taylor, whom she truly adored; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her longtime partner Donnie Steiger.
A memorial will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11am.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Lifecare for making Mona's last days as peaceful as possible.
