Obituary

Ralph Eldon Carr, 78, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Born on May 7, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Ralph lived a life marked by service, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for history.

A graduate of Sebring High School, Ralph went on to serve his country with honor, in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969.  He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and served as a corpsman at USAF Clark Hospital, in the Philippines.  His time in the military reflected his dedication to helping others and laid the foundation for a lifetime of service.  Following his military career, Ralph pursued various professional paths, most notably, in law enforcement.  He also channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into owning and operating his own bail bonding company.  Through these roles, he became known for his integrity and commitment to justice.

Ralph's interests extended far beyond his professional life.  He had an uncanny passion for metal detecting and an enduring love of history-especially, that of the Civil War.  His enthusiasm for uncovering relics from the past was matched only by his fascination with classic cars and hot rods.  Whether exploring battlefields or admiring vintage engines, Ralph found joy in connecting with the past and sharing that excitement with others.  He was also known for his sharp sense of humor and his gift for listening-always ready with thoughtful advice or a well-timed joke that brought laughter to those around him.  His warmth and wit left lasting impressions on all who knew him.  Ralph was a man of faith and worshipped in the Baptist tradition throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy J.  and Viola C. Carr.

Ralph is survived by his brother, Roy Carr; sister, Debbie Kahn; two sons, Kelly Carr and Randy Carr; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry forward memories of his kindness and spirited personality.

May Ralph's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire appreciation for history, humor, and heartfelt connections!
