A memorial service will be held for Polly Margaret Schaumburg Ebarb at Kings Highway Christian Church, Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 10:00 AM. The service will be officiated by Rev. Barbara Driscoll. Polly, 68, of Shreveport, LA passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. She was born Saturday, January 29, 1949 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Warren E. Schaumburg and Jean Spurlock Schaumburg. Polly is survived by her husband  Mike Ebarb, daughter Mandie, brother Doug Schaumburg and wife Emily, her nieces Emily Margaret and Anne and nephews Michael and Robert and their families. Polly was a devoted member of Kings Highway Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for most of her life, having enjoyed teaching Sunday school for many years. More recently she was honored to be ordained a deaconess by Broadmoor Christian Church after serving on the executive board as secretary,  singing in the church  choir and playing a large role in community outreach for several years, before returning to Kings Highway. Polly was a graduate of Byrd High School and Centenary College and a school  teacher at West Shreveport Elementary and Linear Middle schools until she retired in the mid 90's. Polly had a great compassion and love for teaching children and caring for animals. She devoted her life to being an incredible wife and supportive mother,  and she will be greatly missed by her family, extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA, a local animal shelter or the American Diabetes Association.
