Phillip Ray Farmer, 74, of Princeton, Louisiana, was born on April 9, 1951. He passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025. Phillip grew up rooted in the close-knit values of his family and community—values he carried with him throughout his life.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Betty Hardy Farmer; his brother, Gary Farmer; his nephew, Josh Farmer, his son, Gregory Allen Farmer; and his beloved better half, Diane Atkin. Their memories remained a guiding light in his life.
He is survived by his children, who were the pride of his life: William Paul Farmer (Amy), Kendall Courtney Farmer, and Stephanie Nicole Farmer. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Farmer Nelson (Ralph) and Charles Farmer (Tammy), who remained close to him throughout his life.
Phillip leaves behind a cherished legacy through his grandchildren: Brittni Hammond (Cori), Emily Farmer, Ian farmer, Keeleigh Newsom (Zach), Katelynn Dupre (Josh), Jody Jr. (Alex), Melia Farmer, Kaleb Rodriguez, and Tripp Farmer; as well as ten great-grandchildren,and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom brought him immense joy.
Phillip was a loving father, a devoted family man, and a steady presence to all who knew him. He had a deep love for horse racing—its energy, excitement, and tradition mirrored his own spirited nature. Whether gathered with family, enjoying a race, or sharing stories from years gone by, Phillip found joy in life's simple but heartfelt moments.
He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and his unwavering love for the people who meant the most to him. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and in the memories he created along the way.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The service will start at 3:00 PM.
Phillip Ray Farmer will be deeply missed and forever loved.
