Pete Smith, known as a Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold, died Saturday, December 5 ^th , 2021 at the VA Hospital in Shreveport, LA. He was 62 years old.

Pete graduated in 1978 from C. E. Byrd High School, and made a choice to serve his Country Proudly, and while in the Military he served 2, 4 year stints and was deployed 3 times to Iraq, while in the Army National Guard for 17 years, he resided in Memphis, TN as well as Atlanta, GA.  In his later years he moved back to Shreveport/Bossier area where he and his roommate and good friend for 50 years, Joe McMillan resided at in Princeton, LA.

Pete was born, Peter W. Smith in 1959 in Nashville, TN to parents Clem and Colonel James Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jimmy Smith.

He will forever be remembered by his friends, siblings, nieces and nephews as the Comedian, Entertainer, and Jokester of the family.  He Loved his family with all his heart, and those that knew him, knew that he Loved The Lord and Kept the Faith.

Pete is survived by His Sisters; Janet Smith Gerke and husband, Mike,  Patricia Smith Fleming; and Brothers;  John Smith and wife Donna, Ken Smith, Joe Smith and wife, Kim, and Philip Smith and wife, Kathy, Robert Smith and wife, Deedee.  He had numerous Nieces and Nephews that loved him so much, plus we can't leave out his beloved cat MOW MOW..

We will be giving Pete a private celebration of Life with his Family.
