Paula Jeanette Shaver Whittington, 81, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Born on June 29, 1944, in Texarkana, Arkansas, Paula lived a life marked by creativity, faith, dedication, and love for her family. For nearly 50 years, she worked as a hairdresser, building lasting relationships with her clients and earning a reputation for her kindness, talent, and warm spirit. She loved making others feel beautiful and cared for, and many of those she served became lifelong friends.

Paula was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and found comfort and strength in her faith throughout her life.

Outside of her career, Paula enjoyed painting and crocheting. Her creativity was evident in everything she did, and she found joy in sharing her handmade creations and artistic talents with those she loved.

Paula was preceded in death by her late husband, Tyrone D. Whittington; her son, Justin P. Shaver; her mother, Pruda L. Brewer Shaver Luman; her father, James H. Shaver Sr.; her sister-in-law Fern Shaver; and her long time friend, Leon Chreene.

She is survived by her brothers, James “Jim” H. Shaver Jr., Roger “Buddy” Shaver and wife Linda Shaver, Bobby G. Shaver; daughters, Patti E. Whittington and Pamela J. Whittington; her grandchildren, Bailey E. Ebey, Shelby L. Franklin and husband Joseph “Brant” Franklin, Zoe G. Moncla, and Tucker W. Moncla; great grandchildren Caven W. Ebey and Case R. Ebey; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory and carry forward the love she shared throughout her life.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the medical professionals, caregivers, and hospice staff who provided compassionate care and comfort during Paula’s final days.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Auld’s Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Paula’s kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the memories that will forever be held close by those who loved her.
