Patsy Ruth Gaddis Reeves, 92, of Shreveport, went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2023. The matriarch of the Reeves clan, she spent her final days on earth surrounded by her adoring family.

She was born in Clarksville, Texas, on July 20, 1930, to Willie Mae Hopkins Gaddis and Isaac Henry Gaddis. She spent her early years in Paris, Texas before relocating to Shreveport, Louisiana where she completed high school and vocational nursing school.

Patsy was a true southern belle, known for both her soft side and her sharp tongue. After raising her four children, Patsy enjoyed a fulfilling career as a nurse and ultimately rose to be the assistant administrator of The Guest House and Rehabilitation Center until her retirement at age 75.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy L. Reeves; son, Gerald W. Reeves; her brothers, Billy Gaddis,  Edwin Gaddis, John Henry Gaddis, and Raymond Gaddis; and sister, Doris Taylor.

She is survived by her daughter Beverly Reeves; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Renee Reeves; son and daughter in-law, Randall and Marica Reeves; and daughter in-law, Rosemary Reeves.

She was a proud Memaw or Mimi, depending on who you asked, to seven grandchildren including Wade Reeves of Baton Rouge, Stephanie Reeves of Ruston, Brian Reeves of Keller, Texas; Blake Reeves of Minden, Lauren Reeves of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Ashley White of Houston, Texas; and Brent Reeves of Lake Charles. To her delight, Patsy was also a great grandmother to 20 and counting.

A memorial service to honor Patsy Reeves will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Bistineau Baptist Church Cemetery in Heflin, Louisiana.

The officiant will be Dr. Tom Harrison of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport.

Pallbearers will be Blake Reeves, Brian Reeves, Brent Reeves, Logan Reeves, Wade Reeves, and Tom White.
