Patricia (Patti) Lynn McLellan Smith passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the age of 66. With her pink fuzzy socks on and her little Velcro rollers still in her hair, she left this world in the most peaceful of ways.

Patti was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on Tuesday, April 14, 1959, to Robert and Delores (Morrison) McLellan. She loved sharing stories of her childhood growing up alongside her five brothers and sisters. She often reminisced about winter basketball games, Scotch picnics with family, and mischievous prank calls made with her sisters—just to name a few. She would get so tickled while telling these stories that her giggles often interrupted her words. The stories themselves were always fun but watching and hearing her tell them was even better.

She lived in the Saginaw area until moving to Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1984, where she remained for the rest of her life.

In 1989, Patti married her husband, Jackie Smith, and together they raised three daughters: Jaclyn Wilson (Travis) of Bossier City, Louisiana; Brittany Garcia (Jamie) of Topeka, Kansas; and Emily Smith of Minden, Louisiana. While "Mom" was cherished, her favorite title was "Gigi." She adored spending time with her grandchildren—Matthew Wilson (Cameron), Austin Wilson, Aiden Garcia, Haleigh Wilson, Kieren Garcia, Jonathen Garcia, Mackenzie Wilson, and Jack Downey—as well as her great-grandchild, Asta. Making memories with these kiddos brought out Patti's inner child and her love of silliness, laughter, and shenanigans.

No matter where she worked over the years, Patti's love for people was always evident. She never met a stranger, and friends quickly became family. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and cared for, often putting their needs before her own. Although life was not always easy, one of her favorite mantras for maintaining a positive perspective was, "Well, if that's the worst thing that's happened to you today, you're doing alright!."

Patti always signed her cards, "I love you to the moon and back." And so, Patti, we will love you here on Earth until we meet again. The warmth of your hugs, the brightness of your smile, and the sound of your laughter will live on through the stories we share, and the memories held in our hearts.

She is survived by her daughters, grandchildren, her mother, Dee, and four siblings:  Jim McLellan of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; Mary Walraven (Larry) of Saginaw, Michigan; Chris McLellan of Saginaw, Michigan; and Dan McLellan (Risha) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and sister-in-law, Kathy McLellan of Saginaw, Michigan. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie; her father, Robert; her big brother, Bob; and her nephews, Bobby McLellan and Michael Spradlin.

Patti was cremated and will be celebrated by friends and family at a later date in Saginaw, Michigan.
