Obituary

On the blessed and beautiful day of December 18, 1954 a precious soul was born to Valressie Payne & Richard Stewart.  She was named Patricia Payne.  The name Patricia simply means Noble.  And that, she remained throughout her life.  Noble in morals, nobel in character and displayed incomparable counts of selfless acts.  Sister Payne would give her last to someone in need.

She received her education in the Caddo Parish School District; graduating from Green Oaks High School "Giant Land" in 1973.  She later attended Southern University in Shreveport before devoting her life to raising three children:  Breon Payne, Patrick Payne & Jarvis Payne.

Sister Patricia worked for many years for Schumpert Medical Center before going into the food service arena.  After that she assisted in rearing grandkids, cousins and nourished a host of friends of her sons while playing endless basketball and other sports right outside of her home where she knew everyone would be safe.

Patricia was uniquely gifted in the area of caring for others, loved sewing, crossword puzzles and researching the next recipe for a meal to prepare.   She was a devoted Christian and a strong prayer warrior for family, friends and anyone she felt the need to pray for.  Her stern look and sometimes strong words could easily give you the idea that she was mad but her sense of humor and genuine kindness & love for people would quickly outshine that hard exterior.

Patricia was proceeded in death by her parents Valressie Payne, Richard Stewart and her Aunts: Curley B. Taylor, Mattie Brazil, Francis Elzie, Uncles: David Taylor, Sr., Peter Elzie,  Claude Payne, Brother: Earl Payne, Cousin:  Prescott Brazil

She leaves to cherish her memory:  Her sons, Breon Payne (Erica), Patrick Payne (Amy), Jarvis (Tanina);  Grandchildren, Jaylon Payne (Kira), Joslyn Payne, Aria J. Payne, Jarvis Payne, Jr.; Sister-in-law, Louise Payne along with a host of cousins, extended family, friends of the family and dear neighbors.

On December 6th, Sister Patricia departed this world and received her incorruptible body.  Her life was one of faith, peace, contentment, resilience and an overall genuine love.  She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to have known her.
