On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, Om Veer Singh, a beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 69. He was born in Meerut, UP, India to Tek Chand and Chandra Wati. In his young adulthood, he graduated in India with a Bachelor's degree in commerce and also met Manju, who became his loving wife. They were happily married together for 41 years.
Om is survived by his wife, Manju, of 41 years; son Ankur and his wife Melissa, Anuj; and siblings Raj Bir, Her Bir, Om Lata, and Raj Rani. He is predeceased by his parents Tek Chand and Chandra Wati, and his siblings Prem Lata and Dhan Veer.
Om and Manju emigrated to Buffalo, New York, where they stayed for nearly 20 years and had two children: Ankur and Anuj. Om always prioritized working hardest towards academics - not only for himself, but assisting all of his family in getting closer towards their goals and aspirations. Om would want to be remembered as fierce, loyal, and authentic.
Om lended a helping hand not only to his family, but also loved doing so in the Indian community. He regularly volunteered at the Hindu temple after prayer sessions and Bal Vihar classes to serve lunch, and still made time to play with all the kids. In addition to all his hard work and selfless mindset, Om was known for being full of energy and enthusiasm. Many of his friends and family can vouch for him being the best dancer that they've ever seen! Even in his final days with us, Om also continued to avidly watch and cheer for his beloved Buffalo Bills.
A service will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 11AM in Auld's Funeral Home - 7849 E. Kings Highway in Shreveport, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sadhu Vaswani Hindu Cultural Center of Shreveport.
