IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Olivia Cheree
Bailey
May 11, 1961 – July 15, 2023
Olivia Cheree Bailey was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Lois Cox Bailey and Grady Leslie Bailey on May 11, 1961. She was the baby sister of a combined sibling group of 7 - 2 older brothers and 4 older sisters and was the baby of the bunch. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings: Carl, Hoyt, and Karan.
Cheree grew up in Bossier City, attended Bossier High School and received her LPN Certification from Airline Community College. She was a nurse at Louisiana State School for a number of years and fondly remembered and remarked on caring for the handicapped "children" there - and she considered all of them as her "babies" no matter their age.
Cheree married young and was a loving, devoted mother during her life. She is survived by her loving companion, Steve Baker, her children, and grandchildren (all of whom were the apple of her eye). Cheree kept her home open to everyone and raised her children to believe in Jesus Christ, while also focusing on loving one another deeply and passionately. She raised many children throughout her lifetime and naturally "adopted" many others. She is survived by her children: Aimee Cheree Davis, William Rodney Hamous, Jr. (R.J.), Olivia Michelle Hamous Williams, Carla Jo Hamous Eddleman, and Paula Marie Hamous Powell and a host of adopted children over the years. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Benjamin, Bailey, Barrett, Landon, Jaden, Jackson, Peniker, Grayson, Taylin, Carson, and a host of "adoptive" grandchildren. Her heart had room to love them all, so she did.
Cheree is survived by her sisters, Teri Bailey Porter, Emma Jean Jackson, and Leslie Maude Dalzell. She was a loving Aunt to Justin, Keegan and Spenser Porter and loved all her nephews and her nieces. She loved her family and was devoted and committed to their well-being and success in their endeavors and was extremely proud of their achievements.
Cheree loved music and had a beautiful singing voice and had an affinity to rock n roll. She loved to have fun, had a dry wit and a great sense of humor. She loved her "soaps" and enjoyed a good story and a good laugh. She was quite good at practical jokes and "pulling one over" when she could get away with it and she certainly got away with a lot. Ree loved doing arts and crafts and kept an organized, clean home that she filled with love, laughter, and music. She leaves behind a legacy of love and caring and will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
