Obituary

With great love and deep sorrow, the family of Norman Onishea announces his passing on October 4, 2025. Norman was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Jesse Onishea; his brothers, James Onishea and Wayne Onishea; and his brother-in-law, Wayne Thomasee.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Gloria Onishea; daughter and son-in-law, Sissy and Michael Ashley; son, Dean Onishea; granddaughter, Kayla Onishea; sisters, Kathy Thomasee, Shirley Young, and Mary French and her husband Ronnie; brother, Herbert Onishea; and his beloved grand-puppy, Bell "Bluebell." He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

Norman proudly served his country in the United States Army, joining right after high school. Following his service, he married his childhood sweetheart, Gloria, and together they built a lifetime of love and memories. Norman worked for over 20 years as a Window Department Supervisor at Custom Bilt Cabinets, where he was respected and admired by his coworkers.

He enjoyed life's simple pleasures — sitting with family, drinking a cold Coke, and eating fried chicken or fish. A loyal fan of the New Orleans Saints, NASCAR, and WWE, Norman loved the excitement of the games and the laughter of those around him. Known for his humor and his love of taking photos, he captured countless moments that his family will forever treasure.

Norman was truly one of a kind — a man who loved deeply, worked hard, and lived with a joyful spirit. His love for his family and his unforgettable laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Vince Irvin, Corey Smiley, Jordan Morrison, Jeff Statham, Dean Onishea, and Kenny Cash.

He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all whose lives he touched.
