Obituary

Nicholas J. Rinaudo Jr., age 78, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away peacefully on June 27th, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor.

Nick was a proud graduate of Fair Park High school and attended Northeast Louisiana University, where he played football and baseball. His strong work ethic and willingness to help others defined his life. He started out at the service department at Chevyland followed by 7 years at Graingers. Nick also shared his knowledge with others by teaching a General Business Class at Midway Middle School. He then spent the next 35 years at Libbey Glass before retiring. After retirement, he faithfully cared for the grounds at Loyola College Prep Sports Complex. A place that was very special to him.

He had a lifelong love for mechanics and used his skills at both Boothill Speedway and the Fairgrounds in dirt track and drag racing. If it had an engine or was broken in any way he could fix it with his hands and determination. Nick had a passion for sports where he coached junior football and later served as NSA and USSSA Softball Director for many years.

When he wasn't working, Nick loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing but most of all watching his grandchildren play sports. He treasured vacations and making memories with family. Those moments together meant the world to him and provided us with memories we will cherish forever.

We will miss his steady presence, his wisdom, and his ability to fix anything. Knowing that he is no longer suffering and is at peace, we find comfort

He leaves behind his beloved wife Katherine Watson Rinaudo of 58 years, daughter Cathy Jo (James Aitken), son Nicholas Dece Rinaudo aka Butch (Sheryl), Grandchildren Adam Aitken, Dominic and Phoebe Rinaudo, sister Theresa Ione Bryant, sister Martha A. (Richard Darnell), sister-in-law Connie Perry Rinaudo and several Nieces and Nephews.

He is preceded in death by Grandparents Anthony Lawrence Rinaudo and Myrtle, Parents Nicholas Joseph Rinaudo and Juanita, Brother William(Bill) Leslie Rinaudo, Grandparents Archie and Bessie Keathley.

Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff at Willis Knighton Hospice for the compassionate care they provided during his final days. We would also like to thank the staff at WK Pierremont and ISH for their kindness, support and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to The Bridge Alzheimer's and Dementia Resource Center at 851 Olive St, Shreveport LA 71104 or you can make an online donation www.alzbridge.org.

Please join us in Celebrating his Legacy on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at 9845 Pleasant Hills Drive, Shreveport, LA 71106.

This will be a casual gathering to share stories, laughter and memories of a man who touched so many lives. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
