Kenneth Neil Wright- better known as Neil, Uncle Neil, or Pop- left his earthly home behind on Saturday, October 7, 2017. He was 60 years old.
Neil was born in Lewisville, Arkansas on January 28, 1957. Waiting to meet him in heaven were his mother, Helen Wright; his grandparents, Bob and Elby Sewell; his brother, Bobby Wright; and his mother-in-law, Clora Parham.
Neil grew up on a few acres of land north of Lewisville surrounded by the love of his mother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. His love of Jesus began at Piney Grove Baptist Church down the road. He graduated Lewisville High School in 1975 and then served in the National Guard.
Neil was a hard worker. He began work at Cherokee Carpet Mill in 1975. In 1979 he went to work at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company in Texarkana. He made the long drive from his few acres of land to Cooper Tire every working day of the week for 27 years. Many lifelong friends were made there. He also served in the Steelworker's Union and fought hard for the rights of his fellow workers.
Neil was a man with many blessings, but he would have told you that his biggest blessing was meeting and marrying his high-school sweetheart, Carol Jane Parham. They met and began dating while in the ninth grade at Lewisville High School. Carol moved away, though, before their senior year and they lost touch. Not long after graduation, however, they were reunited and fell in love all over again.
On June 19, 1976, they married and soon after that, Neil brought her back to his few acres of land north of Lewisville to begin their family.
One of Neil's kids once asked him, "Daddy, if you had one wish, what would it be?" His reply was, "Well...If I had one wish, I would wish that my kids and your mom would live a happy life and that you would go to heaven when your life's done."
Neil Wright's life was done at home, peacefully, on his few acres of land north of Lewisville, with the love of his life and son beside him. He left behind the following to meet him in heaven some day:
His beloved wife, Carol Jane Wright; His daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Dan Breshears; His son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Jessica Wright; His son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Nicole Wright; His grandchildren, who brought him so much joy: Cora Helen Breshears; Morgan, Addison, Lily, Elijah and Zoey Wright; Klaire Jane and Elly Wright; His father-in-law Ed Parham; his sister-in-law, Kathy Wright; His in-laws: Eddie Ray and Teresa Parham; Rodney and Kim Parham; Susan and Raymond Adams; Sandra and Steven Turner; Many nephews and nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces who grew up being loved by their Uncle Neil; His special cousins, Stanley and Leta Nelson, and Corky McClure; His Number 2 Carla Trissell; His friends Tony Bearden and Roger Gray.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, Arkansas, on Monday, October 9, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at Piney Grove Baptist Church, north of Lewisville Arkansas, at 2:00pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
Afterwards, Neil will be laid to rest at Sewell Cemetery, within sight of the few acres of land where he grew and lived in love.
