IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy Carlene
Lee Stewart
July 19, 1942 – November 12, 2023
Nancy Carlene Lee Stewart, 81, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Carlene was born on July 19, 1942, in Shreveport Louisiana to Carlton and Eloise Lee. She graduated from C.E. Byrd. She was a homemaker most of her adult life. If you grew up in or around Caddo Heights, you probably knew or visited her home often. Her home was a place to gather. Her greatest gifts were her children: Carlton, Dana, Yvette, and Glynn. Once the kids were grown and grass could actually grow in her backyard, she spent hours and years turning her backyard into a beautiful fortress. She would spend hours cutting, pruning, and talking to her flowers and plants. Several cups of coffee would be drank during this time. Carlene may have been born in the 40's but she would always tell you she was born in the wrong era. Her best times were spent at the Texas Renaissance Festival. She fully embraced the experience and dressed up most of the time. She loved to travel rather it be to Yellowstone, Arizona, or their yearly visits to Alberts Pike. Her last trip was with her granddaughter Derienne. They spent two weeks in Ireland. She was actually sang Happy Birthday on her 80th birthday at an Irish Pub. She made sure to instill her love for music into all of her kids and grandkids. Led Zepplin was her all time favorite band. Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix ran a close second and third. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She fully embraced the Christmas spirit and made sure her kids always had the best experience. From sloppy joes and fudge on Christmas Eve, to footprints of Santa in the Kitchen (because we didn't have a fireplace), and her amazing Christmas Stocking gifts.
Nacy is survived by her children, Carlton Stewart of Stonewall, Dana Barron (Chris) of Bethany, Yvette Festervan (Eddie) of Stonewall and Glynn Stewart (April) Her grandkids were her greatest blessings, Paul "Boo" Hope, Kirstin (Josh) Roberts, Kelsi (Ben) Hoffnung, A.J. (Alyssa)Tucker, Derienne Copeland, Ariel Festervan, Tristan Stewart, and Balyn Stewart. She had 10 great-grandkids, LaForrest, Lilly., Henry, Emmi, Westin, Walt, Ellie, Aiden, Adalyn, & Abigail.
