Nancy Wood (Carney) Brown

Nancy was born August 9, 1942, in Shreveport, and passed away June 25, 2022, peacefully at her home in Bossier.  She was preceded in death by her son Kevin Carney, her parents Joe and Mae Wood and sister, Betty Flowers.  She is survived by her husband and best friend, Jimmy Brown, son Greg Carney, granddaughter Caitlin Carney and sister Virginia Harrell.  Also surviving Nancy are her stepdaughters Juliet Brown and Jennifer Ockmond, stepson Jonathan Brown, their children, as well as Nancy's nephews & their families. And last but not least, her 4-legged buddy Bo.

Nancy was the ultimate mom.  Her door was always open for her kids' friends, whether it be a meal, a hug or giving her opinion of what they should/shouldn't do.  She was "Nana" to her grandkids, and there were many happy memories made at her house. She was an amazing cook who loved nothing better than get-togethers.  She grew up fishing with her daddy at Bistineau and never lost her love of catching a White Perch.  She would give you the shirt off her back.

Per her wish, there were no services. We ask instead that you hug your loved ones, forgive a feud, or simply do something nice for a stranger in remembrance of Nancy.  She would want it that way.
