Mona was born December 22, 1968 to the late Donnie and Annie Yates.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Rita and Lisa; one grandchild, Zoie Woods.

Mona leaves to cherish her memories five daughters, Nikki (Glyn) McGee, Crystal (Randy) Johnson, April Swallows (Brandon) McGee, Mary (Chris) Funderburk, Tanya Benson (Bobbie); two sons, Timothy Yates (Antionette Smith-Yates) and Corey Yates; one sister, Penny Ebarb; one brother, Donnie Yates II; 19 grandchildren, Timothy Yates, Bronck McGee, Landon McGee, Breanna McGee, Aaliyah Yates, Chad Johnson, Michael Benson, Kaylee Swallows, Tabitha Turner, Juliet Benson, Melissa Funderburk, Liam Funderburk, Gracie Swallows, Payton MCGee, lil Brandon McGee, Emma Benson, Brayden Benson, Roman Wright, and Brayden Johnson; a very special friend James Ezernack, and a host of other relatives and friends.
