Obituary

Miranda Shay (Shay-Shay) McGill (30) of Shreveport, La, where she was born and raised, was born January 25, 1992 and passed away on February 5, 2022. Shay was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 8 which led to many battles in her life. She didn't let it keep her from living life on her terms though. One thing she took pride in was being an aunt to her 29 nieces and nephews. Ask anyone who knew her, they will tell you, "She was a damn good Aunt!" Shay could be stubborn, but once she loved you, there wasn't anything she wouldn't do to help you. Whether family or friend she would do everything she could to put a smile back on your face . At 28, she was able to successfully keep her pregnancy, and her pride and joy, Prezley, was born on December 17, 2020. Shay was so happy she was finally able to have a baby of her own, and loved her with every ounce of her heart. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Left to keep her memory alive are her daughter, Prezley McGill (13 months) of Shreveport, LA, her father, Calvin McGill, of Shreveport, LA, brother, Les Davis and wife Sheri of Greenwood, LA, sister, Heather McGill of Shreveport, LA, brother, Michael McCroan of Haughton, LA, brother, Bo McGill and wife Cortney, of Stonewall, LA, sister, Tonya Arnold and husband Brandon, of Keithville, LA, sister, Chanda Casey and husband Bobby, of Shreveport, LA, brother Daniel Pope and wife Lauren, of Stonewall, LA, sister, Brittany Griffin and husband Taylor, of Shreveport, LA, sister, Victoria Woods and husband Chris, of Cameron, LA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Shay is preceded in death by her mother, Katherine McGill, grandmother, Barbara Ann Martin, uncle, Charles Payne, grandparents, Lucille and Royce McGill, and nephew, Jackson Griffin.

A memorial for Shay will be held Sunday February 13, 2022 from 1-4 pm at 9596 Mansfield Rd
