Obituary

Minnie M. Slaughter, youngest of four sisters, born February 18, 1944 in Provencal, Louisiana went to her heavenly home May 23, 2021. Mother as she was known to Papa, and Nana to her grands. She loved her husband of 57 years, Steve Slaughter, following him wherever he chose to go and doted on him whole heartedly; children Bryan and wife Felisha, and Rhonda Slaughter LeGendre and significant other Don Nicholas and Grands; Tyler, Chance Slaughter and fiancé Kurt Arbuckle, Hayden, Zach, Landry, Ben; Great Grands Ryder, Paislee, and Kason.

She came from a very poor life growing up but loved them dearly. She was valedictorian in high school and proudly so. Minnie's first job was at Southwestern in Dallas, Texas, then transferred to BellSouth in Alexandria, Louisiana where she met her husband Steve Slaughter, and married within the first year. She loved her plants and dogs, taking great care of them, especially her African violets. She also loved to cook and spoil her family but did her best to run a tight ship. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Preceding her in death are three sisters: Cleo Crittenden (JB), Ritha Carney (Wilbur), and Donna Davis (Donald); mother Jane Honeycutt Massey and step dad Clarence Massey; father Jefferson Masters.
