Obituary

Miles Edward Turner was born April 3, 1942 in Forbing, Louisiana and passed away February 18, 2025 in Keithville, Louisiana.

Upon graduation from C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport, he co-owned an Esso service station, followed by working as a tool and die maker at Western Electric, then established and owned MET Construction Inc. as a heavy equipment operator for 50 years.

As he grew MET Construction, Miles became respected as one of the best dirt work experts in the area. He built many ponds and neighborhoods, as well as being entrusted with the large KCS Railroad crossing restoration project. His advice was sought as a consultant on many jobs, whether or not he was awarded the project. Miles always said that he never worked; he just got paid to play in the dirt. His sense of humor, smile, and laugh will never be forgotten.

Miles is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Kay Hereford and husband Lou; Rachel Turner Fletcher and husband Scotty; grandchildren Blaire, Jessica, and Joshua; eight great-grandchildren; and sister Catherine Daniel. He was predeceased by his infant firstborn daughter Vicki Lynn Turner.

Special thanks goes to Miles's caregivers for the past three years: his granddaughter Blaire, caregivers Shabreyona "Bre", Brenda, and Takeitha "Keke", as well as the compassionate staff at Christus Hospice.

Visitation will be held Monday February 24, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 E Kings Hwy, Shreveport, Louisiana.
