Michael Joseph Kellmel, 61, of Stonewall, LA, passed away March 19, 2018 after a long illness, with his wife by his side. Michael was born in Hartford, CT on March 15, 1957 to Albert and Shirley (Burr) Kellmel.  Michael had been visited several times by Father Fidel Mondragon from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shreveport. As a young man, Michael worked at Pratt Whitney in Connecticut until an injury, then worked at several jobs until finding his passion through Truck driving. He enjoyed many adventures on the road until 2003, when he was forced to retire due to illness, afterwards spending time having coffee, telling trucker tales to everyone, and loving his dogs. In 2014, Michael's illness brought him to live in a nursing home and he made many new friends there. He never met a stranger and wanted to help anyone he could. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Susan and her husband Francis (Butch) Dupree.  His survivors include his daughter by his first marriage, Sandra Gregory, and granddaughter Mirian, his wife Judy Kellmel, step children, Steve Britton, Beverly Hunt and Erica and her husband Ron Barrett, and numerous grandchildren, his siblings Robert Humphrey, Judie Valentin and her husband Henry, Luann Vacour, and by several nieces, nephews and cousins.  A memorial service will be held on March 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm in Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport, La.
