Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce that Micheal (Mike) Doyle Willis reached the end of his wonderful life on September 25, 2024, at the age of 60. He spent his last day in the home he built, surrounded by his loved ones, and now has a place in heaven.

He was born to Priscilla Strong and Doyle Durant Willis in Shreveport, Louisiana, on December 21, 1963. He was the second oldest of his four siblings: Sheryl, Paula, Kathy, and Jimmy. Mike has been married to his wife, Becky Willis, for 36 years.

Mike graduated from Southwood High School and continued his education journey by getting a Carpenter Degree.  Through his passion for fixing things, he created Mike Willis Construction. He built the respected and reliable company from the ground up and kept it running till his last day. Mike was also a rancher (but we all know he was a cowboy). There wasn't a day that went by that Mike didn't wear a cowboy hat, a Carhartt shirt, a pair of jeans ironed perfectly, and cowboy boots. Riding horses, feeding cows, and eating steak was a normal day for him. In his free time, he would sit back and watch western movies while drinking his Dr. Pepper.

Mike was predeceased by his father Doyle, his mother-in-law Bobbie, his sister Paula, and his son Christopher.

He is survived by his wife: Becky Willis, his children: Amber Farrington, Tonya Willis,  Joshua Willis, Aspen Willis, Cord Willis, Cameron Willis and Callie Willis, his son-in-law: Timothy Farrington, his nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. His Mother: Priscilla Strong, his siblings: Sheryl Ann Hooten, Kathy Willis, and Jimmy Strong, and tons of nieces and nephews.

Mike Willis was a man of honor; his life was filled with tremendous passion and service towards others. Every day that went by for the last 60 years, he put others above himself. We all looked at him like he was Superman, he was noble, strong, selfless, compassionate, and resilient. Nothing would ever set him back, whether it was falling off roofs or driving his truck like a racecar driver,  he was indestructible.

His sudden departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives and always will. Mike Willis was a good man; he was loved so deeply and will be greatly missed. No words can explain how incredible he was.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Farrington, Skye Farrington, Cord Willis, Sebastian Willis, Cameron Willis, Bill Bagley, Jason Jetton, John Stephenson (Big John) and Chris.
