Melissa Ann Harris of Bossier City, Louisiana 1979-2020

Melissa Ann Harris -- age 41 -- passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, December 15, 2020. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 10, 1979 to Kim and Ben Martin of Keithville, Louisiana.

Melissa graduated from Southwood High School, attended Bossier Parish Community College and began working at Home Depot where she met her soulmate David Lynn Harris Jr. in 1998. Melissa and David were married in 1999 and the couple moved to Longview, Texas where she began working for J.P. Morgan Chase, quickly climbing the corporate ladder to eventually become the most successful Branch Manager in East Texas.

Melissa is survived by her loving husband David Harris Jr., her parents Ben and Kim Martin, her brother Adam Martin, his wife Jamie and their son Ryder. She is also survived by her in-laws David Harris Sr. and Yolenda Harris.

Melissa is preceded in death by her grandparents, George Russell Martin and Gladys Maurine Wray-Martin, Warren William Doyle and Bettie Sue Remy-Doyle.

Melissa had a smile that could light up the darkest room. She never met a stranger and would give her last dime to help someone in need. The hole left by her passing can never be filled. She is in Heaven now, drinking coffee and eating hotcakes with her Nanny.
