Melissa Dyer Bates, age 40, passed away January 30, 2018 after a long illness. Memorial services will be held 11 AM Wednesday February 14, 2018 at the Aulds Funeral Home.

Melissa is survived by her son, Chase Bates of Stonewall, LA; brothers Jeremy Dyer and Stephen Dyer of Shreveport, LA; grandmother Judy Dyer; uncle Paul Baker and wife Charlette,; aunt Cyndi Hutchinson; aunt Carolyn McManus of Gary, TX; uncles Randy Dyer and wife Sherry, Joel Dyer and wife Katina of Shreveport, LA, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Terry Dyer and Pam Dyer; grandfathers Conrad Dyer and L.E. Baker; uncles Jerry Baker and David Baker all of Shreveport, LA.

Melissa was sweet and kind and always a lot of fun to be with. You would always get a good laugh. She loved her family and loved Chase with all her heart. He was the light of her life. We will miss our "Sweet Melissa".
