Melanie Strain Weaver

Shreveport, LA – Memorial service for Melanie Strain Weaver, 66, will be held at 2PM on December 27, 2023, at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA.  Officiating the service will be her brother, Jason Strain.

Melanie was born on December 5, 1956, in Shreveport, LA.  Surrounded by her family, Melanie went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2023.  Throughout her life, Melanie found joy and happiness in her family and friends.  She loved music, movies, and writing poetry.  She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where her father was her pastor.  Her crowning achievement and the greatest love was being a mother to her three children.

Melanie is preceded in death by her parents Rev. A. Louis Strain and Virginia Strain and her brother Scott Strain.  She is survived by her sister Ginger Moore, widow of John Moore, of Shreveport and Jason Strain, wife Dianna, of Frisco, TX.  Her godmother Rosie Lee Shine of Shreveport.  Her three children Todd Mooney, wife Jada, of Shreveport, Jill Jones, husband Casey, of Shreveport, and Taylor Weaver, wife Kyren, of Kettering, Ohio.  She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Peyton Mooney, Alexis Johnson, Ashley Jones, Gavin Weaver, and Tommy Weaver, and her four nephews, Jacob Strain, Caleb Strain, Micah Strain, and Jonathan Strain.

Special recognition and appreciation to the medical and nursing staff at CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center ER and CVICU for their heartfelt exemplary care and attention given to Melanie.

Honorary pallbearers are Casey Jones, Gavin Weaver, Tommy Weaver, Jacob Strain, Caleb Strain, Micah Strain, and Jonathan Strain.
