GREENWOOD, LA. – A memorial service honoring the life of Maurine Fowler Long, age 84, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on September 15, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Greenwood, 7042 Howell Street, Greenwood, LA. 71033. Officiating the services will be Brother Joe Bob Alexandra.

Maurine was born in Clarks, LA, on January 16, 1936 and has been a resident of Greenwood for 42 years. She went to be with the Lord on Friday August 28, 2020.

Maurine is survived by her husband of 68 years, Joseph N. Long, Sr.; 3 children; Joseph N. Long Jr., Kathie J. Long James and son-in-law Shawn James and youngest Gary R. Long and his fiancée Patricia Miller; 5 grandchildren, Ryan Long, Brandi Lane and husband Eric, Christopher Long and wife Megan, Christina Mead and husband Joseph, Stephen James and fiancée Courtney Gentry; 8 great grandchildren, Hunter Long, Ferrell Long, Ethan Long, Ryan Long, Easton Lane, Everett Lane, Codie Long, Ella Long; 1 brother, Carl Fowler

Maurine worked in retail management for more than 35 years. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood and loved to sing in the choir. She was a "Prayer Warrior" and served God by teaching Sunday school. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
