Matthew George Culpepper passed away on 3/23/22 in Natchitoches, La. George was born in 1946 to Louis and Lucille Culpepper. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a skilled tractor mechanic for most of his career. George was active in his community and served as a board member for fire district #5. He was passionate for planes and flying them whenever he could. George was a hard worker and spent most of his time, gardening, tinkering in the shop, and helping on the family farm where he grew up. George was loved by so many. Culpepper Hill will not be the same without his infectious laughter.
George is proceeded in death by his parents Louis and Lucille Culpepper, brother Claude Louis Culpepper, grandsons Gregory Singletary, B.J. and Conner Miller. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Katherine Culpepper, twin brother Joe (Gail) Culpepper, sister Agnes Mitcham, children Cecile (John) Chelette, Trudy (Hilton) Theriot, Christi (Bryan) Miller, Jimmy (Lisa) Hijar, Luis (Margarita) Hijar, Pablo Hijar, and Justina (Bryan) Canzoneri. Grandchildren Brandon Kenniston, Josh (Kylie) Hijar, Schyler and Madison Hijar, Katie Ford, Katherine Hijar, Robert, Gregory, Valeria Barrows, Treven and Jade Hijar, Kolbie, Quinton, and Alana Chelette, Ashlyn (Cody) Miller, Kasey Miller, Preston, Peyton, Jackson Canzoneri. Great grand children Cadence Hijar, Raelyn, Rhyss and Remi Williams, Olivia and Franklin Sebastian, Serenity and Riley Barrows.
The family would like to thank Natchitoches Community Care Center and Heart of Hospice, especially Courtney for her kindness and love given to our dad.
There will not be a formal service. The family will hold a private memorial.
