Mary Ann Teddlie Veatch went to be with her heavenly Father on April 23, 2017 at Christus Highland Hospital. Mary Ann was born on March 28, 1934 in Georgetown, Louisiana to Eula Doshier Teddlie and Odos Teddlie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lee Roy Teddlie, aunt Marie Steen Doshier, sister-in-law Bobbie Jean Kern, and niece Julie Ann Kern.
Mary Ann married Claude Veatch on April 12, 1957 at Laurel Heights Baptist Church in Shreveport. They moved to Coushatta in 1963 where they established a home and family.
She loved her work, and for the last 43 years Mary Ann was an Assistant Town Clerk for the Town of Coushatta, working until her recent illness. She was an active member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Coushatta, where she cherished serving the Lord with her church family.
As a graduate of Fair Park High School Class of 1952, she enjoyed planning and participating in reunions with her classmates.
Mary Ann was known and loved by many for her kindness and generosity. In the many aspects of life as wife, mother, and caregiver, her most happy role was that of Nana to two boys who were the light of her life.
Those left behind include her husband Claude, daughter Allison Valcho and son-in-law George, grandsons Matthew and Daniel Valcho, sisters-in-law Billie Jo Orr, Robbie Sue Johnson and husband Eddie, nieces Terrie Teddlie, Cathy Bell (Andrew), Lajuana Reeves (Jimmie), Rhonda Long, Carrie McDonald, nephews Mike Orr (Lynette), Gary Orr (Donna), Greg Johnson (Leigh Ann), great nieces and nephews and many friends.
We thank her co-workers at Coushatta City Hall for being such special friends.
