Mary McArthur, 93, of Shreveport, La. went home to be with the Lord on March 14th, 2016. She was born September 12, 1923 in Bodcaw, Ar to Alice and Roy Lawrence. In her early years she lived in El Dorado, AR. until her mother passed away when she was 5 years old. She then moved to Camden, Ar. then on to Texarkana, AR where she lived with her Aunt Lena. She graduated from high school in Texarkana, AR. and her life long best friend was Jean Montgomery Horrocks.  Mary married Foy Lee "Mac" McArthur, July 28, 1951.

Mary was a well known realtor in the Shreveport area for Century 21 Spigner Real Estate for many years. She loved going to church, fishing, cooking and caring for her family. If you came to visit Big Momma, you might as well plan on eating, whether you were hungry or not !!!  Mary loved serving the Lord and was a wonderful wife, mother and a lover of all her many grand kids and great grand kids. We all called her Granny, Grandma Mac or Big Mamaw. Her friends called her "Mary Mac". She cherished her family and was the proud Mother of Donna and husband Bobby Ott of Keithville, La. and Linda (Lyn)and husband Benny Dilbeck of Mena, AR., Grand Mother of Tracie Ott, Tammy and husband Byron Mangum, Shana and husband James Cook, Ronda and husband Jamie Mack, Melinda and husband Mark Thomas and Thomas Bolt. She was also very blessed with many great grand children including: Colton Ott, Kendall Mangum, Kelsie Mangum, Kameron Mangum, Taylor Mack, Alexis Mack, Dalton Cook, Jordan Cook, Crista McArthur, Katrina Barber, Cheri Fisher, Michael Thomas, Sherisa Cobb and Nicole Bolt. Her great great grand kids were: Levi Barber, Hannah Barber, Kaylee McLeod, Courtney Fisher, Micah Thomas and Amanda Bolt. Along with many friends and other family. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Keithville, La.

She was preceded in death by her loving Husband, Foy Lee McArthur of Shreveport, her Mother, Alice Dorman Lawrence and her Father, Roy Millard Lawrence of AR., her two brother's, Millard Lawrence of Mansfield, La. and Buddy Lawrence of Tioga, North Dakota. Her two sons: George (Joe) Arthur Bolt and Gary Lee McArthur of Keithville, La. as well.

Family and friends visitation will be at Aulds Funeral Home located at 7849 East Kings Hwy., Shreveport, La. on Sunday March 19th,2016 from 5:00-7:00 PM.

Grave side services will be held on Monday, March 20,2016 at 1:00 PM at Forest Park West located at 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, La.

Services will be presided by Pastor William Valentine.

A Special "Thank You" goes out to all those loving hands and hearts that cared for "Mary Mac" the last 11 years at Heritage Manor South. And also the sweet ladies from Life Path Hospice. We can not say enough words to express the gratitude we have for the loving care you all gave to our Mother.
