Mary Louise Rouse Holmes was born May 5, 1951 to Willie Pearl Rouse in Orlando, Florida. She was the only child. Mary was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida. Mary attended school in Orange County where she graduated from Evans High School and attended Valencia Community College. Mary later moved to Los Angeles, California where she worked in the banking industry for over 25 years and later retired.

My mother was a beautiful and loving person, she had a heart of gold and didn't mind saying what was on her mind at any given time. My mother was strong and resilient, scripture tells us "the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak". My mother fought a good fight. She is now asleep in the bosom of Jesus. She loved her family, friends, and the beach life. She enjoyed life itself! She leaves to cherish her memories her ex-husband Hugh Holmes their one and only daughter Leatrice Holmes Draper (John Draper), one grandson Craig Johnson ( LaBridney Johnson), one granddaughter Aysha Draper, three great grands: Alanah, Craig and Layonna Johnson along with a host of family and friends back home in Orlando, FL.
