Mary Carolyn Hall Mundy July 30, 1942 – January 13, 2022
Mary Carolyn Hall Mundy entered into the arms of Jesus January 13, 2022, surrounded by family that loved her. Mary was the life of the party and the center of attention and will be greatly missed.
She was born July 30, 1942, in Hope, AR to Carl and Elizabeth Hall. She was raised in Hooks, Texas with her older sister Betty, younger brother Butch, and younger sister Laurie. She graduated from Hooks High School in 1960 and Texarkana College in 1962. In June of 1962, she married her high school sweetheart, Ronnie Mundy, in Texarkana, Texas. They started their life together in Haughton, LA and eventually settled in Marshall, Texas where they raised their two daughters, Michele and Ronna. She and Ronnie were also foster parents for many years and helped care for numerous children.
Mary loved dancing, singing, and playing music. In high school she was a member of the band, a choir member, and a majorette. She was a classically trained operatic singer. She played the organ for many years at Believers Bible Fellowship where she was also a soloist. Dancing was her favorite past time. She was usually the first on the dance floor and won awards both locally and nationally for dance. She also loved camping and spending time on the water and her daughters believe she had the family camping every other weekend their entire lives.
She excelled in her career and advanced in each position she held. She served several terms as President of the American Businesswomen's Association (ABWA). Her favorite job was as Tour Director for Kerrville Tours where she planned, organized, and led group tours which allowed her to indulge in her love of travel.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Elizabeth Hall. She is survived by her daughter Michele Phelps and husband, Jim; daughter Ronna Jones; Grandchildren, Savannah Bowden and husband Trey, Hallie and Tye Jones, and Amelia Mullen; Great Grandchildren, Lillie Mistric, and Tuff and Tex Bowden; Sister Betty Whisenant, Brother Carl "Butch" Hall, and sister Laurie Miller and husband Bill.
