Mary Estelle Boyd Garcia, 91, of Shreveport, Louisiana, died peacefully surrounded by her children on April 29, 2017 at Riverview Care Center in Bossier City, LA. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA, from 6-8pm. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, May 4, 2017, 10:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4736 Lyba Street, Shreveport, LA, with Father John Paul Crispin officiating.

Mary was born October 8, 1925 in Durham, North Carolina. She met and married her husband in 1948, moving to Shreveport in 1951, where they raised five children. She was a homemaker who loved caring for her family, loved to dance and spent long hours working on her flowers. She was a devout Catholic, loving the Lord and singing in the choir. She was also involved in the Shreveport Homemakers Club and the Christian Women's Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, John "M.T." Garcia, her parents Charles T. and Carrie Eaton Boyd, one son Michael Garcia, one grandson Kenneth Garcia, two brothers and two sisters.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories are son John Garcia of Longview, Texas and daughters Raynette (Manuel) Sepulvado, Shreveport, LA, Rose Garcia-Paddie, Bossier City, LA and Theresa (Charles) Hawkins of San Antonio, TX; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank everyone at Riverview Care Center for the care extended to our mother especially Dr. Van, Theresa Childers, Eileen Hamm, Paige Oswald, and Richard Dawson. Also her Hospice CNA Christine who was always gentle and loving with our Mom.
