Obituary

MARY MARIE COLE BROOME – Marie Broome, 63, died suddenly after a short and unexpected illness October 19, 2021, surrounded by her kids and family.  She was born December 13, 1957, in Shreveport, La, the daughter of Garland and Florice Cole.

Marie lived her life as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a support system for many that knew her.  She was always there to lend an ear along with an opinion but always out of the goodness of her heart even when it wasn't what you wanted to hear she would still shoot it to you straight.  She always wanted the best for everyone she knew and she lived every day by the guidance of the Serenity Prayer.

Marie worked many years in law enforcement and security until she had to take medical retirement due to kidney cancer which she was in remission for 9 years from.  The illness that took her from us so soon was another form of cancer we found out about after she was in the hospital just 3 weeks before she passed away.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents.  She was survived by her two children, son – Chris Berry and wife Christina and daughter Allison Frost and husband Mark along with 7 grandchildren – Kaitlyn, Delayne, Madalyn, Landyn, Brandyn, Christopher (Bubba) and Layla, 3 step grandchildren – Shannon, Lane and Colby, 2 great grandchildren – Logan and Adleigh, 1 step great grandchild - Kayson and one great grandchild on the way as well as many other family members and friends.  She will be greatly missed by so many people that had the pleasure of knowing her. She truly was one of a kind.

The family of Marie Broome would like to thank the nurses and staff at Christus Schumpert Highland Hospital along with the nurses and staff with Hospice Home Health Care because they were truly amazing.  We would also like to thank everyone for their prayers and support during this difficult time.  We will be holding a Memorial Service Friday, October 22, 2021 at 5pm at a family residence at 169 Fire Tower Rd. Grand Cane, La 71032.

I have attached a picture of her also that we would like to be shown with the obituary.
