Martin “Marty” Earl Shelton, 66, of El Dorado, Arkansas, passed away on March 30, 2026 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Marty was born on June 22, 1959, in Oxnard, California, to Benny and Sharon Shelton. He spent his life rooted in the values of hard work, family, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. In his early years, Marty and his brothers worked for their father at H&N Oilfield Cementing where they learned skills and values that would stay with them for life. Marty went on to dedicate his entire career to the oilfield, starting Marty Shelton Inc., where he took great pride in owning his own business. He especially loved working alongside his brother, Kenny, and the two of them always seemed to have a project going, sharing both hard work and camaraderie.

Marty was known for his generous heart and willingness to help anyone in need. He found joy in lending a hand, offering support, and making life a little easier for those around him. His kindness and selflessness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Outside of work, Marty found his greatest peace in nature. He loved being outdoors, whether casting a line while fishing or simply enjoying the quiet beauty around him. Lake Claiborne held a special place in his heart, and he spoke of the years he lived there with deep fondness and countless memories.

Above all, Marty cherished his family. He especially looked forward to his regular lunch dates with his daughter, Karli, and evenings with his mother, Sharon—time spent together that meant the world to him and created memories that will be deeply treasured.

Marty is survived by his daughter, Karli Murph and her husband, Schuyler, of Village; his mother, Sharon Shelton of El Dorado; his brother, Kenny Shelton and wife Chandra, of El Dorado; and his nephew, David Shelton of El Dorado; his aunt, Doris Rist of Tulsa, OK; Jerry and Shirley Welch of Huntington, AR; and a host of extended family and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Benny Shelton, and his brother, Bobby Shelton.

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his generosity, and his love for the outdoors. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

After a brief grieving period, Marty will be laid to rest in a private family memorial.
